To solve hunger in Ohio, we must end gerrymandering!
We are sad to report that State issue 1 in November 2024 did not pass. This means that Ohio will continue to deal with maps drawn in a manner to favor politicians over the communities they are called to serve.
At the Hunger Network, we will continue to advocate for equity and fairness in our democratic processes so that all voices - especially those on the margins - can be heard and adequately represented in the halls of power.
Gerrymandering: Manipulating legislative boundaries to benefit the ruling party or political allies.
In Ohio, Gerrymandering divides communities and limits our collective voice by forcing legislators to seek to serve special interests and political elites instead of working with local church food pantries and PTA’s in solving community issues.
