A Jew, a Muslim and a Christian....
Okay, this isn't the start of a bad joke. Instead it is a monthly gathering of interfaith leaders in Columbus, who meet over breakfast to discuss our shared call to justice in our communities. In February, Congregation Tifereth Israel hosted the gathering. In the beginning, the group wanted to be intentional about welcoming others of racial and religious diversity. By rotating locations, different communities have the opportunity to host and show hospitality to us.
The group has been organized by the Ohio Chapter of Faith in Public Life - a national organization that works with faith leaders toward justice. HNO and FPL work closely together in Ohio to coordinate our advocacy strategies and lift up our different resources in shared ministry.
The Faithful Breakfast Club has identified many issues of importance - including racial injustice, prejudice, the criminal justice system, and poverty to name a few. We will continue to meet to strengthen our shared ministry of justice for all - regardless of gender, race, or creed.
