No, but we need to get off the sidelines and proclaim God’s radical love for all as children are made less safe and healthy by politicians in our state capitol.

Black history is American history, so why don’t we learn and value it all year long?

Sabbath is for rest and for healing. As we reflect on the anger and anxiety in our communities, it is clear that America needs a sabbath time to heal our divisions and rest so that we can build up a stronger community.

What does Jan. 6th mean for us? Here are some random thoughts for us to consider as a faith community - particularly how we have allowed the seeds of discord and distrust to grow up and to manipulate the Gospel into Christian nationalism.

We are all anxious with concerns about the Global health crisis - COVID-19. It’s time for the CHURCH to lean in -spiritually. We must maintain our physical distance, but in an anxious world, we are called to demonstrate God’s love through our words and action.

The labor movement provided many of us opportunities for good homes, access to healthcare, and workforce protections. But the labor movement has fallen short in addressing our nation’s first labor policy that exploited Africans by forcing them into slavery. Bringing together diverse hard working Americans today to address this historic failure of our nation is the only way we can move forward to guarantee decent labor standards for all of our neighbors.

I was driving passed the abandoned Chevy Cruz plant one morning, thinking about hope…. and I began to cry.

The parable of the Good Samaritan. If you have grown up in the church you have probably heard this story many times. But what does it mean for our world today as kids are locked up, separated from their families, and families built in our communities are threatened with deportation.
